Pre-election Channel Deepening forum 8th November 2006 7.30 PM at the Performance Theatre, Mornington Secondary College 1051 Nepean Highway Mornington - opposite Bunnings

Plans to proceed with channel deepening haven't been shelved by state government - it just looks that way. Although we are hearing very little about the project, government is still working behind the scenes for the project to ramp up again in 2007.  So Blue Wedges is inviting all candidates for the Peninsula electorates of Nepean and Mornington to give us their views on channel deepening and their vision for the future of Port Phillip Bay and its environs.

The snapper are coming to Frankston! so the Blue Wedges Coalition, Frankston City Council and Frankston RSL invite you to a fun day to celebrate the start of the snapper season and to help 'Save the Bay'. Come along on Saturday 7th October 10am - 5pm to meet the many experts on fishing, boating and marine life in Port Phillip Bay. Surprises for kids! Best fishing photo competition - bring along your favourite photos!

Our Art Competition judging will soon be underway, and the title "Wild About Port Phillip Bay" leads us to appreciate the beauty of Victoria's natural heritage while at the same time resolving to protect it for future generations from threats such as those posed currently by Channel Deepening. Our three interesting and experienced judges will be embracing this in their decision-making. Meet them here...
