Garrett's decision.....just legal

According to the court, Mr. Garrett ticked the boxes he was required to tick.

The entire judgement took only 3 minutes. Two short video clips from The Age online report on Friday’s Federal Court decision are informative.

The second clip, taken within the court of the Judge handing down his decision covers almost all that he said, and certainly delivers the message clearly: That the court’s function is limited, and it could not determine whether or not channel deepening is good or bad, or whether it will harm the environment.

The court’s function was limited to determining whether Mr. Garrett’s decision was in accordance with the decision making process defined in the EPBC Act. So - according to the court Mr. Garrett ticked the boxes he was required to tick. Sir Humphrey would be satisfied.

And: Another delivery of placards has just arrived – perfect for your front fence, shop window or as a gift for the friend who has everything (except a clean Bay). At 1.2m x 900mm and only $10 each they are a good future investment – as with Boskalis in the Bay we will certainly need to keep telling Mr. Brumby to STOP buggering the Bay.
