Yarra Radioactive Risk not assessed

CSIRO pioneered uranium processing at 506 Lorimer Street Fishermens Bend (next to the Yarra) where, from the 1940s to 1960s, experimentation on various radioactive materials was conducted.
Radionuclides omission summary
506 Lorimer Report 1990

Investigation of the site in 1989 found radioactive contamination in the buildings, grounds and in a stormwater drain.  Part of the PoMC’s responsibility in preparing the Supplementary EES was to examine historic sources of industrial pollution on the River or adjacent areas (see SEES Appendix 36). This study failed to mention the site history of 506 Lorimer Street and no testing for radionuclides in Yarra sediments was conducted.
