All the swells at Portsea!

The tide is certainly rising, especially in the South of the Bay, but it is really the marked increase in the swell – surge of water through The Heads – which has increased so dramatically since dredging at the Entrance.
As Port Phillip Baykeeper reports below, the tide is certainly rising, especially in the South of the Bay. 
 
Several centimetres increase in tide height will do damage for sure, but it is sometimes metres of swell, pounding on the beach through all of the high cycle of the tide every day that has caused most damage to Portsea beach since dredging.
